Murray was born in South Africa and has lived on 4 continents; appreciating nature is at the core of his approach to practicing and teaching photography. Murray believes in developing a conversation between nature and the photographer through careful observation and learning. Landscape and nature photography is his way of connecting with wilderness all over our planet, and to give back. Murray is most occupied at the moment by two themes, water and Scotland’s Geology; these themes are slowly developing into long-term projects. While Murray loves travel and adventure, it seems more important than ever to appreciate locality and find a spiritual or existential connection to nature in your immediate environment.
